Do I have to bring my own fishing gear?
You can if you wish but we supply all quality rods, reels and tackle on a replace if lost or broken basis. The general cost of the outfits that we use are about $500 so it pays to keep a good hold on them. Swimming after them is discouraged.
What is my transport from Darwin Airport to the Daly River and return?
A self drive hire car will be arranged for your group at Darwin Airport. There must be one person in the group that is prepared to do the driving. The trip from Darwin to the Daly River is approximately 210km (2.5 hours) on sealed road all the way. I take out Ultimate Protection Insurance on the hire car so that there is nil excess to pay in the event of a mishap. If I have to come to town for shopping etc, the groups normally follow me out to the Daly River.
What is the minimum legal size barramundi?
The minimum legal size for barra for keeping is 55cm and above. A good eating size is around 65cm. All barramundi are born male and all turn female at around the 80cm mark. As these bigger fish are the breeders, we encourage the practice of catch and release from 74cm onwards.
